"Large, powerful, alert, with much substance, and heavy bone." - AKC Akita Standard

This sentence sums up the feeling I had, when I first saw an Akita.  The breed just takes my breath away!  They are highly intelligent, truly loyal, and impressive in looks and demeanor.  One should never forget what they were bred for in Japan... hunting bear!  They are not the dog for you if you want a "Golden Retriever".  However, you will never find a companion more devoted to it's family.  To date, I have only bred one litter of Akitas.  Who knows what the future may bring?
